Georgian Bay Community School is please to welcome David Roy, Program Director of Addiction Services.  
He will host an open conversation about parenting, with a focus on parenting adolescents in particular, substance use issues and concerns.  He will share the “how’s” in talking to your kids about those issues, what we can and cannot control and figuring out the difference.
David will take questions right from the get go.~ He will address anything that our families what to table.~ He will start by talking about his own life and his own parenting adventures.
Biography:  Dave Roy received his Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 and is a Registered Social Worker.  He has worked in the substance use field for the past 26 years.  He is currently the Director of Addiction Programs for HopeGreyBruce Mental Health and Addictions Services and Chair of the Youth Community of Practice Group, Addictions and Mental Health Ontario.  Anything he has done in his career pales in comparison to how lucky he has been to have had an amazing partner for 33 years and two fantastic children.  Also, a dog who agrees with everything he says.
